Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew as a child in Mexico with a family that loved music. Her early years were spent listening to traditional music, boleros from the past, and the traditional romantic and ranchero ballads. Ana is passionate about opera and tangos, along with any dramatic performance. When she was a child, her mother would sing with her and sister, she began more intense singing lessons at the age of 16 under the guidance of renown Mexican tenor FlavioBecerra. At the School of Music of Guadalajara University as well as the School of Sacred Music of Toluca in Mexico furthered her education in music. When she was a student, as well being a young professional at the time in Mexico City and Guadalajara she was a member of several chamber ensembles as well as choruses. After moving from Mexico to the United States in 2000, she sang for the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. She currently is a part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and often performs as a soloist of the traditional Latin American music at private performances. Passion and enthusiasm for music, art, and performing has her involved with a variety of local initiatives as a teacher and performer. Ana has also been a former participant in the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana is privileged to be able to share with others her passion for the tradition of Latin American music. She hopes that this will encourage younger generations to keep the tradition alive.
